Description
This is a barn, likely from the 18th century, that has been altered and enlarged. It is constructed from mixed random rubble with large sandstone quoins and some through-stones, topped with a stone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular five-bay layout oriented north-south, with a large outshut added to the west side. There are slit breathers present, and the east side features a blocked wagon doorway in the fourth bay, which has long rubble voussoirs. The second bay is now enclosed by a single-storey porch-wing of the house. The west side is covered by the added outshut under a catslide roof, and the south gable wall has an enlarged doorway. Inside, there are four collar trusses made of light scantling. This barn forms a group with Gale Garth Farmhouse and another barn to the south.
