Description
Widdows Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1680 on the left gable and has been altered. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble and features a composition tile roof. The building has an L-plan layout, consisting of a two-unit main range with an added kitchen wing at the rear of the first unit. It has two low storeys and three windows. The right-hand end has a 20th-century glazed porch leading to an altered or inserted doorway, while the left side features a large 20th-century bow window. Between these, there is a five-light mullioned window with a simple hoodmould. On the first floor, there are two three-light mullioned windows and a small single-light window between them. A ridge chimney is present.
The left gable wall includes five-light mullioned windows at ground level and three-light windows above, along with a datestone that reads: I/ WK/ 1680. At the rear, there is a low wing with a 20th-century porch. The right-hand gable wall has two two-light windows at ground level and one three-light window above, all featuring simple hoodmoulds. A 20th-century addition is located in the rear angle.
Inside, the building has been remodelled, but the first bay and back kitchen retain chamfered beams. Widdows Farmhouse forms a group with a barn located approximately 15 meters to the west.
