Description
This is a farmhouse, later converted into a house, dating from 1667, with alterations made since. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a composition tile roof. The building is arranged in a T-shape, consisting of a two-unit baffle-entry main range with a cross-wing to the right. It has two low storeys and a 2:1 window arrangement. A gabled porch sits at the junction of the main range’s bays, featuring a doorway on its left side and a single-light window facing forward. The main range also has two three-light casement windows on each floor. The ground-floor window to the left has a chamfered stone surround, and a small inscribed datestone reads R/1667/H. The gable of the cross-wing has one window on each floor, mirroring those of the main range, but offset to the left. A ridge chimney stands in line with the porch, and another gable chimney is on the left. The right-hand return of the cross-wing, displaying quoins at first-floor level only, features one similar window on each floor of the left bay, and a stairwindow to the right. The interior has not been inspected, but likely retains some features of interest.
