Description
This is a barn, likely dating from the later 17th century, and altered subsequently. It is constructed of dressed sandstone and handmade brick, with a corrugated sheet roof. The barn has a rectangular seven-bay plan. A chamfered plinth of dressed sandstone runs along the base, with slit breathers at three levels. The north side has a wagon entrance in the centre, featuring dressed long-and-short jambstones and a modern sliding door, and a window to the right. A modern lean-to structure is located beyond the window but is not part of the listed building. The west gable wall has three doorways with chamfered long-and-short jambs; the two outer doorways have been altered into windows, while the central doorway has a sliding door. All three doorways are topped with Tudor-arched lintels supported by brick relieving arches. There are also small breather openings above the doorways. A square doorway is located in the loft. Inside, the roof is supported by six collar trusses.
