Description
The Congregational Church, dated 1826 on the doorhead, is a small rectangular single cell building located on Silk Hill Lane in Inglewhite. It is constructed of squared sandstone with scored render on the sides and rear, topped with a slate roof. The church features a symmetrical design with prominent quoins and a first-floor sill band. The ground floor includes a round-headed doorway with imposts, a panelled door, a plain fanlight, and an inscription above that reads "ERECTED A.D. 1826." On the first floor, there are two round-headed windows with altered glazing. The right side wall has two larger but similar windows, while the left side has one window and a side extension that serves as a school or meeting room. The rear of the building has one round-headed window.
Inside, the church has pitch pine furnishings, including a raised and panelled minister's desk with side stairs and a panelled dado behind it. There is also a west gallery with a panelled front supported by two slim iron columns with foliated heads.
