Description
The Parish Church in Boyndie was built in 1773 with later additions and alterations. It is a simple rectangular church that is harled, featuring tooled ashlar margins and dressings. The south elevation has six plain square-headed windows that are evenly spaced, each window has been checked for exterior shutters, with two surviving shutter hooks on each side. There are round-headed gallery windows in each gable, also with shutter hooks, and the eastern gallery window has been lengthened to illuminate the eastern end of the re-cast interior. A bellcote is located at the western gable, with a ball finial at the eastern end, and the church has a slate roof.
At the rear, there is a single-storey, two-bay vestry. A gabled porch, dated 1922, projects from the western gable.
Inside, the church has a plain interior that has been re-cast to the east. There is a late 19th-century pulpit, communion table, and organ at the eastern end, with a gallery at the western end. The interior features a plank dado and plain pews. The glazing consists of simple lattice panes, with some coloured glass that is likely from the late 19th century.
