Description
Manor House Farmhouse and the attached barn, which dates back to 1726, are located in Goosnargh. The farmhouse has been divided into two dwellings. The materials used include sandstone for the structure, with the farmhouse being roughcast and the barn constructed from random rubble, topped with a slate roof. The building has an attenuated L-shaped plan with a crosswing at the right end. It is two storeys high, featuring a glazed porch in the angle. On the left side, there is one 20-paned sashed window on each floor, and a similar window on each floor of the projecting gable of the wing. The dwelling on the left has altered openings. The barn, which extends to the left, has various irregularly spaced openings at the ground floor, two square doors at the first floor, and towards the left end, there is a square datestone inscribed "James Brandwood built this barn ann. dom. 1726." The interior of the house has been altered.
