SD41SE MOSS LANE 663-1/3/23 (East side) Barn approx. 10m S of Forshaw's Farmhouse

Barn. Probably early-mid C19; altered. Red brick in English garden wall bond (5+1), slate roof. Rectangular 3-bay plan, with opposed waggon doorways in the centre: the front (to the road) has a full-height segmental-headed doorway with 3 stone hinge-anchors and board doors, but the rear has a low segmental-headed doorway, and a loading door to the right. The north gable wall has 2 doorways, one with a stable door, and one window on each floor. INTERIOR: brick partition wall between 1st and 2nd bays; kingpost roof truss between 2nd and 3rd bays, with fishbone struts. Forms a group with Forshaw's Farmhouse.
