Description
This barn, located approximately 10 meters south of Forshaw's Farmhouse, is likely from the early to mid-19th century and has been altered. It is built of red brick in English garden wall bond (5+1) and features a slate roof. The barn has a rectangular three-bay plan with opposing waggon doorways in the center. The front, facing the road, has a full-height segmental-headed doorway with three stone hinge-anchors and board doors, while the rear has a low segmental-headed doorway and a loading door to the right. The north gable wall includes two doorways, one with a stable door, and one window on each floor. Inside, there is a brick partition wall between the first and second bays and a kingpost roof truss between the second and third bays, supported by fishbone struts. The barn forms a group with Forshaw's Farmhouse.
