Description

Bark Hill Farmhouse and attached barn date to around 1700, as indicated by a datestone reading “RIL/1L 1700.” The farmhouse is constructed of dressed stone with stone slate and slate roofs. It is originally two storeys and two bays, with the second bay projecting and being higher. It features 20th-century casement windows and a front entrance. An attached barn, likely originally four bays, adjoins the farmhouse to the left; the first two bays project. The barn’s original entrance has been blocked and replaced with a window. It has windows and pitching holes, and the fourth bay contains an entrance to a cow house. A datestone is present on the first bay, and the fourth bay features an elliptical hole. The left return side of the barn has three entrances, two of which are now blocked, along with two pitching holes and two owl holes. The building is included on the list for its group value.
