Description
Upper Farmhouse and the attached barn to the left date from 1697, as indicated by the datestone on the right gable. The building features roughcast walls and a triple Roman tile roof with coped verges, one of which has a base for a finial, and three brick stacks. The farmhouse has a long L-shaped frontage and is two storeys high. The ground floor includes two 19th-century three-light casement windows and a single 20th-century casement window, while the first floor has two 20th-century casements. There is a narrow projecting wing on the right, which has a front-facing gable with the datestone. The farmhouse has three door openings with plank doors, two of which have iron strap hinges; the door on the right is located under a pantiled lean-to.
The barn to the left is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with roughcast and has a double and triple Roman tile roof. It features two hay loft openings on the first floor with segmental heads, plank doors, and two ground floor windows with similar heads, each equipped with wooden shutters. There is also a broad square-headed opening and a wide throughway to the left, with a front-facing weatherboarded gable above.
