Description

This is a milepost located on the roadside at Southway, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a V-shaped design with a canted top. The milepost features raised lettering indicating the distances to Wells (3 miles), Bridgwater (17 miles), and Glastonbury (3 miles). It is part of the Wells Turnpike Trust.
