Description
Monk Hall Bridge 59 is a road bridge that spans a canal arm, which was part of the Lancaster Canal before 1816. It was built in the early to mid-19th century. The bridge is constructed from coursed rusticated rock-faced stone and features a parapet made of finely tooled stone blocks. It has a single semi-elliptical arch and does not include a towpath. The arch is adorned with rusticated voussoirs and keystones, and the bridge has swept wings that end in piers. There is a squared stone string course along the base of the parapet.
