Description
The stable block located to the southeast of the Junction Works at Paradise Wharf is a structure from the early to mid 19th century that is currently undergoing restoration. It is built from red brick in English garden wall bond and features a slate roof, with a rectangular plan. The building has two storeys and a total of nine windows, with the further portion being slightly lower than the first. There are three segmental-headed stable doorways in the first portion and two in the other, all of which have altered doors. The first portion also has segmental-headed windows on the first floor, while the other portion features square-headed windows, all with restored sills. The square-headed windows have restored lintels, and the glazing was removed at the time of the survey. Additionally, there is a small segmental-headed blind window at the right-hand end of the first portion. The left gable wall has two low segmental-headed windows set high in the ground floor and a restored or inserted loft doorway above. This building is included for its group value.
