Description
The stable block located to the northeast of Number 54, formerly known as the stable block to the northeast of West End House, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with four bays, and there are two additional bays of one storey to the left. A plain cornice runs along the first two bays.
The windows in these bays are sashes with glazing bars, flanking the entrance. The third bay contains an entrance and an inserted garage door, while the fourth bay has a segmental-headed cart entrance. The fifth bay has an entrance, and the end bay features a boarded window. On the first floor, there is a window in the third bay, which is sashed, and a boarded window in the fourth bay. Additionally, there is a pitching eye in the fifth bay, and the fifth and sixth bays still contain remaining stalls. This building is included for its group value.
