Description
This barn, located 15 meters west of Little Stannilands, dates back to the early 17th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is partly set on a stone plinth, with some repairs made using washed brick. The roof is thatched and the barn has a rectangular plan. The west front has three bays, with a pair of 20th-century doors in a large central cart entrance. On either side of this entrance are small timber frames, measuring 4 by 3. Inside, there are two roof trusses that include cambered tiebeams and two diagonal struts, along with windbraced trenched purlins. There is also a lower three-bay garage added to the west, which is not included in this listing.
