Description
Rose Cottage is a house dated 1733 that has undergone some 20th-century alterations. It is built of Flemish bond plum brick and features a Kerridge stone-slate roof, with stone ridges and two gable brick chimneys. The building has a rectangular plan, is two stories high, and has a three-bay south front. The end bays each contain three-light 20th-century wooden casements, which have been restored with lattice-leaded glazing and sit under flat brick heads. The central bay features an added timber-framed porch with a 20th-century four-board door set in a moulded wooden frame. The lintel of the door has a copy of the original inscription reading TC 1733. Above the porch is a similar casement, and the wooden guttering has been restored and is supported by wooden brackets.
