Description
Little Stannilands is a former farmhouse and stable that has been converted into a house. It dates back to the 17th century, with later additions made in 1931, 1960, and 1980. The building features a timber frame set on a plastered stone plinth, topped with a thatched roof and three brick chimneys. It has a long, irregular layout and a two-storey, nine-bay west front. The left three bays, added in 1960, have planted timber framing, four-light wooden casements, and a classical architrave around the door. The fourth and fifth bays retain original small timber framing, with 20th-century casements and two added timber-framed gabled dormers. Behind a lean-to porch, there is an original studded three-board oak door with long iron hinges. The remaining four bays were converted from stables and also feature applied timber framing and 20th-century casements. Inside, the original section includes timber-framed partition walls, chamfered ceiling beams, and a partly restored wooden inglenook.
