  1. C18. 3 storeys. 3 windows. Painted ashlar front. Glazing bar sash windows. Coped verges to slate roof. Central recessed entrance flanked by shop windows with joint pilastered fascia above. Door to through passage on left, 6 panels with hood over. Courtyard at rear formed with Nos 5 and 7 partly flagged. 3 storeys. Partly brick built. Glazing bar sash windows. South gable end contains 2 attic lights. Further extensions and outbuildings extending into St Mary's Wynd. 2 storeys. 3 windows with glazing bars and timber lintels. 2 smaller 2 light windows below eaves. Brick chimnies, tumbled brick verge to left.

Nos 1 to 19A (odd) together with Nos 2 to 8 (even) and Nos 16 to 20 (even) and No 4 Meal Market, form a group of which No 1 is of local interest.
