Description
No. 4 Chesil Street is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high with an attic. It is constructed of red brick and features a moulded brick dentil cornice and an old tile roof. The façade includes three windows and two dormers. The ground floor has an early 19th-century shop front, which consists of one window with shutters, an entrance to a workshop, and a door that is adorned with a rectangular fanlight and a reeded pilaster surround. This is topped with a moulded entablature that has a fret bed mould and is framed by pilasters. The building also has a panelled door and sash windows with glazing bars. There is a rear wing attached to the structure. No. 4 is part of a group that includes Nos. 1, 3, 4 to 12 (even) and St Peter's Theatre.
