Description

This is a former Primitive Methodist Chapel, dating to 1862. It has a gable end facing the street. The front is built of ashlar. The building is two stories high with three windows. The upper sashes of the sash windows have glazing bars. A round-headed doorway features a keystone and a semi-circular window above the two-leaf doors. A pedimented gable displays a carved panel that reads "1862 Primitive Methodist…" although part of the inscription is obscured. This chapel is part of a group of buildings, including numbers 1 to 19A (odd), 2 to 8 (even), 16 to 20 (even), and 4 Meal Market, which collectively have local interest.
