ST MARY'S CHARE 1. (West Side) 5334 Nos 19 and 19A NY 9363 2/327

  1. Late C17/early C18. 2 storeys and attic. 5 windows. Stone with rendered front. Chamfered quoins to left. Kneeler to coped gable. Late glazed sash windows 1st floor with moulded labels and reveals. (Right hand window disintegrating). 3 half dormers with coped gables and moulded labels-2 have sash windows, 1 (to right) retains 2 light mullion. 2 doorways on ground floor - central through passage with fine architrave and pulvinated frieze to entablature, a similar doorway to right. 2 shop fronts (Nos 19 and 19A). Return to south: 2 attic openings with raised surrounds, 3 extensions at irregular lvels. Traces of 2 light mullioned windows here and at rear of main part of house. 1 stepped chimney stack (to former forge).

Nos 1 to 19A (odd) together with Nos 2 to 8 (even) and Nos 16 to 20 (even) and No 4 Meal Market, form a group of which No 1 is of local interest.
