Description
The Old Grey Bull Public House is an early 19th-century building located on the north side of Battlehill. It stands three storeys tall and features three windows on its pebble dash front, situated at the corner of St Mary's Chare. The central window is flanked by tripartite windows, all of which are sash windows with late glazing. There is a cill string at the first floor level. The building has two bar entrances, each with applied plaster surrounds and scroll pediments, along with two modern windows for the bars. The roof is slate, and the west gable includes a two-storey, two-window annexe to the north, which has a brick chimney.
The Old Grey Bull is part of a group that includes Nos 3 to 11 (odd) and Nos 2 and 4 Cattlemarket, with No 2 Cattlemarket noted for its local interest.
