Description
Number 4 Cattle Market is a building from the 18th century or early 19th century, standing three storeys tall and featuring two windows. The front is rendered and includes chamfered quoins, a cill band on the second floor, lintels, and kneelers. The windows are wide spaced tripartite designs, with smaller versions on the second floor; they are sash windows with late glazing. The ground floor has a large late 19th-century double shop front with plate glass windows, along with a continuous fascia that includes central and side entrances. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with slate.
Number 4 Cattle Market, along with number 2, forms a group with The Old Grey Bull Public House and numbers 3 to 11 (odd) Battlehill. Number 2 Cattle Market is noted for its local interest.
