Description
Nos 4 and 6, St Mary’s Street, are an 18th-century building that was refronted in the mid-19th century. The building has a T-shaped layout. It is two storeys and has attics. The front has a symmetrical design: No. 4 has one window, and No. 6 has two. The roof is tiled, and the rear section has brick kneelers. The building has a timber frame with a colour-washed plaster finish, paired with a gault brick facade and a dentil eaves course. A recessed strip separates the two houses. No. 4 has recessed sash windows, while No. 6 has Yorkshire sash windows. The doorcases are made of wood, with pilasters supporting an entablature, and are flanked by panelled doors. A mid-19th century brick stack is centrally positioned on the ridge. Nos 4 to 6 (even) St Mary's Street, together with Nos 1-12, Lee Court, form a group.
