Description
This is a gazebo built in the late 18th century. It has an ashlar basement and rear, with a brick front facing the garden that features ashlar dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate, and there is an ashlar chimney. The structure has a hexagonal plan and includes a chimney stack on the left side that is connected to the garden wall. There is a wide flight of side steps leading to the door on the garden front. The building is one storey high with a basement. The stone steps have renewed balustrades and brick supporting walls, leading to renewed double doors set in a moulded Tudor-arched stone surround. Similar stone surrounds are found on the flanking and opposite windows, which have 20th-century glazing and boarded blocking at the shaped heads. A moulded stone gutter cornice runs along the top. There are inserted basement windows, and the roof is low-pitched and hipped. The chimney stack is located on the left blank side and is positioned at approximately 80 degrees to it.
