Description
The gazebo at the rear of No. 8 is an early 17th-century structure. It features a ground floor made of rubble Doulting stone, with regular coursed ashlar stone above, topped with a moulded cornice. The roof is hipped and covered with stone slates, featuring a central stone cap and ball finial. The gazebo has a raised, single-storey, square plan and is accessed by a flight of seven stone steps leading to the entrance, which is sheltered by an edge moulded flat stone hood supported by carved brackets. The entrance includes a 20th-century door set within moulded stone architraves, and there are 20th-century 12-pane fixed light windows in a projecting moulded stone surround on the northwest and southwest elevations.
