Description
Nos. 1 and 2 The Plain is a house dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble Doulting stone and features a slate gabled roof with rubble stone end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with an east-facing window front. The doors are located in bay 4 and the main entrance is in bay 7. Both entrances have a central stone door frame with a keystone and a flat slab hood supported by brackets. The doors are from the 20th century. The house has 16-pane sash windows set in stone frames. There are also two gable-roofed dormers, each with 2-light 19th-century casement windows that have two panes.
