Description

Philpotts Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, situated on the east side of North Street in Norton St. Philip. The construction uses coursed rubble Doulting stone with ashlar quoins, and the roof is gabled with double Roman clay tiles. The house is two storeys high with a two-window front. An entrance is located on the left-hand side with a 20th-century vertical boarded door set in a square hood and a chamfered stone door frame. There are two 12-pane sash windows with stone frames on the ground floor. A similar single-light window is located on the first floor, positioned above the entrance.
