Description

Church Bridge over Langley Beck is a bridge built in the late 18th century, believed to be designed by J. Carr. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings. The bridge features a wide segmental arch that is twice recessed, with a long key and shorter keys on either side, situated beneath a parapet band. The bridge has wide shallow piers with low pointed coping. The gently curved parapet coping extends along the approach walls, which sweep out and terminate in round piers topped with ogee-domed coping.
