Description
The garden walls and piers, located southeast of Garden House, date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a brick inner layer, topped with ashlar coping and dressings. The long wall, approximately 4 meters high, stretches along Winston Road from Garden House to the driveway of No. 65, then curves along the north side of the garden of No. 65 before returning to the northwest where it is truncated. From the eastern corner of Garden House, the wall runs northeast to join No. 1 Beech Side, with a gap for the road that is flanked by piers.
The piers are square and the same height as the wall, featuring a banded plinth, a top string, and a cornice, with small convex-pyramid finials. The northern pier has likely been repositioned to accommodate the Beech Side road. There is a 19th-century garden gate next to the southern pier, which has resulted in an alteration to the wall at the gate. Additionally, there is a small boarded door in Winston Road beneath a wooden lintel. A diagonal brick wall, about 2.5 meters high, runs east-west and includes a stone-arched surround with voussoirs leading to a small blocked door.
