Description

6 Church Street is a building of probable early origins, but visually dating to the 1840s, with later alterations. It has a rendered and painted front and a Welsh slate roof. The building’s single bay, double-depth plan suggests early origins. The front features a likely altered late 19th-century shopfront with an entry on the right and a single sheet of plate glass in the window. The first floor has a tripartite plate glass sash window recessed under an elliptical head and a stone cill. A cill band runs to the second floor, which has paired, arched windows with 1 over 1 pane sashes. Decorative bargeboards with drop brackets are present. The rear elevation was not visible during survey. The interior, apart from the shop premises, was not inspected. It is believed to have group value.
