Description
Commercial premises dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of coursed, squared sandstone with ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. It is arranged as a two-storey, five-window building. The three-bay section to the right has been altered with early 20th-century shop fronts, featuring margin-glazed doors in angled recesses, plate-glass windows with transom lights, blind boxes and a continuous fascia. The shop to the left has a central door, while the other has a door to its left. The first floor of this section has large 6/6 sash windows with projecting sills in plain surrounds. An eaves band and cornice are topped by a low parapet with gable copings. The two-bay section to the left is set back and lower, featuring a carriage entrance with boarded doors beneath a basket arch with faceted imposts and a corniced keystone. The first floor has 3/6 and 2/4 sash windows. Eaves band and cornice are also present on this section. The interior was not inspected. The building demonstrates group value in its contribution to the streetscape.
