Description
5 Church Street is a three-storey building with a narrow frontage that suggests it occupies a medieval plot. The main elevation is finished with rendered and painted plaster, featuring painted plaster quoins and window heads. The roof is not visible. The facade includes three windows above a central shop entrance. The shop front is adorned with a modillion cornice supported by brackets and has Corinthian columns at either end. It features a panelled stall-riser and a shop window with two vertical panes flanking a central recessed entrance, along with a fascia. The three cambered arched windows have voussoir heads and projecting keystones, with 6 over 6 pane sashes that have a curved top rail. The parapet is detailed with a band and coping. The rear elevation has not been observed. The interior was not available for inspection during the resurvey, except for the shop premises.
