Description
Nos. 1 and 3 Church Street are a pair of three-storey buildings that date from an early period, likely developed from a narrow burgage plot. The front is rendered to resemble ashlar, probably over brick, and features a Welsh slate roof behind a parapet with red brick stacks. Each building has a single bay that faces the street and includes shops at ground level.
The first floor showcases a canted oriel window with plate glass sashes, while a plat band runs at the second floor level. Above this, there is a 4 over 4 pane sash window, a cornice band, and a parapet. The roof is hipped at the front, with one stack on the ridge and a larger stack at the rear. The rear elevation has not been seen, and the interior was not accessible during the resurvey, except for the shop premises.
