Description
87 Monnow Street is a three-storey building with a double depth plan, featuring a rendered and painted front. The roof is not visible from the street. The ground floor includes a late 20th-century oriel display window and a doorway to the right, which has a part-glazed door and a small hood. On the first floor, there is a 2 over 2 pane sash window, while the second floor has a smaller sash window that suggests the building originally had a gabled front. A cornice band and a coped parapet complete the exterior.
Inside, the ground floor front room contains a late 16th-century stone-framed fireplace on the rear wall, topped by a stop-chamfered beam. The rest of the interior was not seen during the resurvey.
