Description

This is a three-storey building of double depth, dating from the 20th century, located at 100 Monnow Street, and part of a terrace of buildings numbered 96 to 100. It is constructed of rendered and painted brick, with a Welsh slate roof. The front has three windows, one associated with each property. The shopfronts to numbers 96 and 98 are plain, 20th century designs, featuring two-pane windows and a deep fascia. Number 100 has a hooded doorway containing a six-panel door with four glazed panels and an overlight. All windows on the front elevation are two-over-two pane sashes with keyed heads; those on the second floor are smaller. A cogged eaves cornice runs along the roofline, which is half-hipped to the left over number 96. There are two flat-topped dormers (serving numbers 98 and 100), each with two-over-two pane sashes, along with a ridge stack to the right of each property. The rear elevation is also rendered and includes some six-over-six pane sashes. A rear wing is attached to number 100. The interior was not inspected during a recent survey.
