Description
The Borough Pharmacy is a two-storey building that has been fully rendered and painted, featuring a Welsh slate roof and a red brick chimney stack. It has a single depth range that faces the street, with a rear wing. The front has two windows on the left side, which are tripartite sashes with 2 over 2 panes flanked by 1 over 1 panes, and a central part-glazed door. On the first floor, there are two sash windows, with 8 over 8 panes on the left and 6 over 6 panes on the right. To the right side, there is a high and wide carriage door with an arch and keystone, all made of moulded stucco. The roof is very steeply pitched and has a tall stack located on the wall between the house and the carriage arch. There is also a small additional door on the left side.
The rear elevation features a three-storey wing with narrow 2 over 2 pane sashes, a part-glazed door, and a gable stack, which are all later additions. The interior of the ground floor has been completely altered since the building was converted from a public house to a pharmacy. The upper floors were not accessible during the resurvey, but the steep pitch of the roof indicates that the building likely has an early date.
