Description
Nos. 92 and 94 Monnow Street are a double-depth building with rear wings, likely dating from the late 18th century and rendered with a painted finish, probably over brick. The roof is slate, with a red brick stack on the left gable. The building is three storeys high, with a single window on each floor. The ground floor has a Regency-style appearance, featuring small-paned shop windows flanking a central entrance leading to the rear. Number 92 has a six-pane shop window, and Number 94 has a five-pane shop window. The right-hand door of Number 92 and the left-hand door of Number 94 are glazed with small panes, all replacements from the late 20th century. A continuous fascia runs along the front. Upper floor windows are 2-over-2 sash windows with stone cills, the second-floor windows being smaller. The roof has a low pitch. The rear elevation is not visible. The interior was not inspected during a recent survey. This building holds group value, contributing to the character of the street.
