Description
This is a terraced house and shop located at 12 Dark Street, built in the 19th century. The building features painted stucco with a close-eaved imitation-slate roof and a brick stack on the left side. It stands two storeys high and is double-fronted, with a central door that is part of the shopfront on the right.
On the first floor, there are two 4-pane horned sash windows, while the ground floor has a hornless 12-pane sash window set in a plain raised surround. The shopfront, located in the centre and to the left, is framed with timber casing that includes outer pilasters, a plain fascia, and a cornice. It features a recessed flush-panelled door with an overlight to the left of a shop window that has six panes facing the street and two panes on the left return. The base of the building is stuccoed.
The rear of the building is rendered and has a modern upper window. The interior has not been inspected, but there is an iron column visible in the shop window.
