Description
Hugh H Morgan is an early 19th-century, two-storey, L-shaped building featuring a gable-ended shop that aligns with the street. The exterior is finished in whitewashed roughcast over rubble, with a plinth at the base. It has a steeply pitched slate roof, plain bargeboards, and a pebbledashed chimney at the end.
On the first floor, there is an 18 small-paned horned sash window above the shopfront, which has plain reveals and a stone sill. The shopfront includes a recessed central doorway with a plain blind box, gabled fascia ends, a rectangular fanlight, and a half-glazed door. Additionally, there is a 12 small-paned horned sash window set under the eaves on the flank, positioned above a transomed three-light shop window. The wall at the corner cants inward.
A modern doorway is set into the angle where the two arms of the building meet. A gabled dormer rises at the eaves, featuring an 18 small-paned horned sash window. There is also a larger sash window on the ground floor, indicating evidence of a larger original opening.
