Description
Cafe Royale is a two-storey building with a cellar, featuring three windows on its facade. The exterior is finished with colourwashed plaster over rubble and has a plinth. The roof is moderately pitched and hipped, covered with slate, and has plain eaves supported by paired brackets. There is a rendered stack.
On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window in the center, with canted bay windows on either side. The tops of these windows are linked to the eaves, and they include narrow side sashes. Above the shopfront, there is a cornice over blind boxes, supported by plain pilasters. To the left, there is a doorway with a rectangular fanlight above a half-glazed door. To the right, there are two shop windows separated by paired pilasters, with a plastered stallriser and a basement window on the far right.
The left end elevation faces King Street and features two Victorian sash windows on the first floor. There is a small shop window on the ground floor to the right, with a cornice over the blind box, flanking pilasters, and a plastered stallriser. The doorway is located to the left and has a rectangular fanlight above a set of half-glazed double doors.
