Description

The War Memorial, built in 1923-1924, is made of pink granite and features three white marble statues. It stands on an unpolished three-step base beneath the main pedestal. The pedestal is flanked by a statue of a soldier on the west side and a sailor on the east side. It has an unpolished plinth and cornice, with a polished shaft that displays carved names and inscriptions. At the top, there is a statue of an airman.
