Description
The Village War Memorial is a tall structure made of polished black granite, featuring inscriptions on the south, east, and west sides, and a moulded cornice. It has a stepped base made of grey granite. Atop the pedestal is a carved white marble figure of a soldier holding a reversed rifle.
Surrounding the memorial is a low stepped base with a cast iron rail. The entire memorial stands on a tapering base of rock-faced sandstone.
On the south side, there are a pair of low rock-faced sandstone piers topped with cemented copings. Between these piers is a dwarf wall with a simple cast iron railing that includes a central gate.
