Description
The War Memorial is a notable structure featuring a red granite pedestal adorned with white marble figures. The pedestal is made up of three shallow rock-faced steps that support a polished pier with a battered plinth. The front of the pedestal includes an inscription panel, while the names of the fallen are displayed on three sides of the main pier and plinth sections. These sections are separated by rock-faced bands and feature a tooled plain deep frieze and coping. The memorial includes two life-size figures: one depicts a standing soldier with a gun at the ready, while the other shows a hatless figure who has collapsed, clasping his head with one hand.
