Description
The barn range at Cefnrhychdir is a long, tall structure built of rubble, partly limewashed, and topped with a corrugated roof. It forms the western side of the farmyard. There is a noticeable break in the masonry between the main range on the right and the end bay on the left, which has a slightly lower ridge. Attached to the left end is a two-storey lean-to that features a small hip on the roof and retains its original slates. There is also a smaller lean-to at the front left. A corrugated pentice runs nearly the entire length of the front, providing shelter for three of the five doorways. Small rectangular windows are located beside the two central left doorways. Above these doorways, there are three small ventilation slits in the main range, along with a cambered-arched pitching door that has a stepped buttress beneath it. The left bay contains rectangular windows stacked one above the other, and there is an additional upper window with a timber lintel in the lean-to at the far left.
