Description

The detached range at Cefn-coch is a combination of timber-framed and brick structures. The southern section features plain timber panelling, standing four panels high, while the ground floor has been rebuilt in brick. The front has a slate roof facing the farmyard, and the rear is covered with corrugated sheeting, adorned with decorative 19th-century tile cresting. There is a lean-to brick extension at the rear, also with a slate roof, and two chimneys for workshops.

The northern section is built of brick and consists of five bays. It includes a central full-height archway for farm access, with elliptical arches at both the front and rear. Each side features a pediment, with pigeonholes incorporated into the front pediment. The low-pitched slate roof has an octagonal cupola at its apex, which has been boxed in. The weathervane atop the cupola displays the silhouette of seated Britannia and is dated 1827.

To the left of the centre, there are two cartsheds with timber doors and segmental arches beneath large blind arches. To the right of the centre, there are two bays with two-order blind arches. The first bay has a small window with a ventilator, while the second bay contains a later door. At the rear of these sheds, there are low segmental arches that have been infilled, along with a later rough stone staircase leading up to the loft.
