Description
The threshing barn at Cefn-coch is a notable four-bay structure with its timber framing preserved. It features a slate roof, which was under repair at the time of the survey. The timber framing consists of three panels in height, and the barn is built on a stone plinth. The lower two rows of panels are filled with brick nogging and include numerous ventilation holes, particularly in the middle row. The top row is filled with woven laths on the front side facing the farmhouse, while the other sides are weatherboarded.
The barn has four bays, with the threshing bay located second from the west end. The bays are divided by cross-frames made up of tie beams and collars, which are connected by two linking struts. Additionally, there is a waist-height beam that is linked by a central post to the tie beam and braced to each wall post.
