Description
The barn at Cefn Ceido Farm is a Grade II* listed building featuring a timber-framed main range with a cross wing. The main range has a weatherboarded front, while its gable end and rear are constructed from rubble stone. The cross wing also has rubble-stone walls with a weatherboarded rear gable end. Both sections are topped with steep slate roofs.
The openings in the barn are typical of its function as a farm building. The south wall of the main range includes a full-height split boarded door on the left side and two doors to the right of center. The side wall of the cross wing features a split boarded door beneath exposed framing. The right gable end of the main range has a loft doorway and a weatherboarded gable. At the rear of the cross wing, where the weatherboarding has been renewed, there is a boarded door on the left side.
Inside, the barn retains a moulded arched-brace cruck truss, which is the central truss of the two-bay medieval hall. Additionally, two simpler cruck trusses remain at the upper end and one at the lower end, with one cruck truss also present in the cross wing.
