Description
The YMCA Building is an early to mid 19th-century, two-storey house featuring three windows on the front. It is constructed of grey coursed stone and has a hipped slate roof with two stone chimneys positioned towards the ridge. The first floor includes three 16-pane hornless sash windows. The ground floor features a central doorway with a classicising surround, a six-panelled door, and a diamond-paned overlight, with 16-pane sash windows flanking the doorway. The left side elevation (south) has two 16-pane hornless sash windows on each floor. At the rear, facing South Street, there is a later 19th-century extension that matches the style and materials of the original building.
