Description
Bank House is a two-storey building dating from the 18th century, constructed from local grey stone that is squared and coursed, topped with a slate roof featuring overhanging eaves and stone chimneys. The front of the house has a symmetrical arrangement with three windows and a central entrance flanked by end chimneys. The windows are twelve-pane hornless sash types set beneath slightly voussoir lintels. The entrance features a recessed doorway under a round arch, with a six-panelled door and a semi-circular fanlight above.
The rear elevation is made of unsquared rubble, and while the window frames at the back are modern, they generally respect the original openings. Inside, the layout retains its original arrangement, featuring a central entrance hall with a dogleg stair that has been restored but still includes parts of the original work. The kitchen is located to the left, while to the right is the living room and a smaller room situated behind it, which is accessed beneath the stairs.
